About the author

Hey there!

I’m Amanda — a recovering lawyer, author and life-long voracious reader.

I have been writing stories since as far back as I can remember and had my first ‘novel’ (a picture book called Teila’s Monkey) ‘published’ in my school library when I was 11 years old. And that was it. I was addicted. The dream was planted and ever since I’ve wanted to write stories that transport and transform.

Today, I write dark fantasy, blending my love for medieval history, mythology, and all things fantastical. I’m drawn to stories that explore power, identity, and the forces that shape us — all through a feminist lens. My background in law, sustainability, and somatic healing has given me a unique lens through which to approach these themes, but it’s my study of archetypes that really informs my characters and narrative structures.

I write about vengeful women who are unapologetically smashing the patriarchy, diving deep into trauma, strength, and self-discovery. When I’m not crafting worlds where magic and politics collide, I’m enjoying a good single malt scotch and working through my ever-growing to-be-read pile.

I live in Perth, Western Australia, on Whadjuk Noongar country, with two very well-traveled cats who’ve crossed continents with me.

I’m represented by Rose Conway at Confluence Literary Agency.
